Description

03/03/26 - For sale is a Springfield Model 1896 Krag-Jorgensen made in 1897 chambered in .30-40 Krag. The rifle is in great shape for its age and has a well aged bluing. The color is fading to a duller grey to a bare-metal. with hints of fire blue shining through on the extractor. The bolt handle has moderate oxidation.  The stock is in great shape without any cracks or breaks. Appears to have been sanded, and the Circle P (script font) is overstamped over one that is thinned. The bore is bright, but the rifling is thinning at the muzzle. The rifle comes with a Model 1892 bayonet dated 1898. The blade shows patina and oxidation on the surface iwth a few dings on the blade edge. The tip is sharp but slightly rounded. The scabbard shows patina and old surface oxidation. Comes with an original brass muzzle cover.
