03/03/26 - For sale is a Springfield Model 1892 Krag-Jorgensen made in early 1896. The rifle was updated to Model 1896 specifications. The rifle has worn away most of the bluing and is down to a patina'd metal finish. The stock shows signs of being sanded but in good structural shape overall. The inspector stamp is faint and hard to read. The P cartouche is overstamped over a thinned one. The bore is bright with strong rifling. There is a slight frosting on the surface at the muzzle. The rifle has the Model 1896 sights installed. Comes with a Model 1892 bayonet dated 1903. blad shows light patina and oxidation. There are a couple of dings on the blade edge. The scabbard is in great shape with a nice aged bluing. Comes with a brass muzzle cover.
