Description
9/18/25- This is an original and correct example of a very rare Colt Service Model ACE that was issued to the US military and inspected by Robert Sears (RS) in 1941. From 1936-45, a total of fewer than 12,000 were produced for the military, with only ~1,100 of those being produced in 1941. These featured the Williams floating chamber, Stevens adjustable rear sight, and walnut stocks. This particular example has its matching numbered slide, and original bluing. That bluing rates at ~75% with considerable thinning and patina on the front strap, and a sizable area of bluing loss on the rear left side of the slide. Excellent bore. The grips show some smoothing but no cracks. Correct two-tone mag also shows thinning and patina.
