Description
8/4/26 - This is a fairly rare Astra Model 900 that was manufactured in 1929. The Astra 900 was a pistol developed to take advantage of a large Chinese demand for semiauto pistols with shoulder stocks, following the massive sales of the Mauser C96 in that country. There was a loophole in the international treaty accords that stocked pistols were not considered military arms, so civil war in China had a huge market for arms that this variant was able to meet. There were only ~21,000 of these pistols produced. This one is matching and has the proper Spanish proofs. The entire gun has been re-blued and shows almost no bluing loss - just some minor pitting under the bluing here and there on the frame. More noticeable pitting under the grips. Fitted with period-correct wood grips - numbered and matching. Mint bore. There is a visible seam in the barrel, which leads us to believe it was likely re-barreled at some point.
