Description
07/16/26 - For sale is a Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor made in 1889. The rifle is in great shape with an aged blue finish on the barrel with light freckles of oxidation. The trapdoor has lost most of its case color pattern. The stock has been lightly sanded but n great shape overall. The SWP/1887 stamp is slightly faded. Buttplate has old oxidation/corrosion. The bore is fairly bright but there is visible corrosion about 4" from the muzzle, and the rifling shows wear. The rifle comes with an original spike bayonet. The surface is oxidized, and some light pitting. The scabbard and frog are in good condition. The rivet on the frog appears to be a replacement, as they are normally marked with a large US.
