Description
2/21/26 - This is an excellent example of a WWI Mauser C96 Broomhandle initially issued to the German Military in WW1. Based on the "EWB" on the right grip, we can surmise the gun was then used in the German Weimar period, most likely by the Einwohnerwehr Bayern (EWB). This was a major conservative, anti-communist paramilitary organization in Bavaria at the time. Finally, the gun was refurbished at the Spandau Arsenal during the late Weimar/early Nazi Period. The gun is all-matching, "Double Crown U" proofed, Imperial German Military proofed, Eagle/Su4 proofed, and chambered 7.63mm Mauser. The gun itself has retained about 94-95% of its original bluing with general high edge wear, muzzle wear, wear by the magazine floor plate, and wear along the barrel that includes pitting. Fitted with original, matching grips that that show dings and dents. The right grip is marked crudely with "EWB". The bore is bright with deep rifling. Comes with a black period holster that is in good condition and has pliable leather.
