Description
2/11/26- For sale is a very rare adjustable Japanese Type 99 4x sniper scope. During WW2, Japan developed and employed both the Type 97 and 99 sniper rifles fitted with a series of scopes, first with a 2.5 scope, then a fixed 4x scope, then very late in the war, adjustable 4x scopes. This scope is one of the very rare adjustable 4x scopes, with only around 300 ever produced and only ~30 known to exist. This scope was manufactured by NTC, a Japanese typewriter firm with experience in precision manufacturing. There is some light wear on the scope and mount, although no major scrapes or serious damage. The optics are clear with no lens scratches, scrapes, or blur. The reticle is clearly visible. The mount has three knobs to slightly adjust the elevation or windage compensation of the scope. The top of the scope is marked with "NTC Kogaku 4x7 No. 13629". The mount has several Japanese characters likely indicating locked and unlocked, and the back has the serial number 4828 for the accompanying rifle. Overall in excellent condition and unlikely to see another soon!
