Description
3/16/26 - This is a nice example of an original and ultra rare Mauser C96 that was part of a small Persian contract order. Manufactured in 1910 in a 1,000 piece lot running through serial number 154000-154999, the Persian Contract Mauser is distinguished by the present of a small "rising sun" stamp on the left side of the barrel extension and a Persian crest (a lion wielding a scimitar, with a sun rising from its back and a crown above) on the milled panel on the left side of the frame. This one is all matching and has retained roughly 80-85% of its original bluing. The wear is concentrated mostly around the high edges, along the barrel, on the grip straps, and on the right side of the frame. Fitted with excellent matching-numbered grips. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout.
