Swiss Waffenfabrik Bern 1906/24 Luger Rig - w/ Provenance

9/15/26 - This is an excellent example of a Swiss Waffenfabrik Bern 1906/24 Luger. The Luger has fixed sights, with a blank chamber and the top of the toggle marked with a Geneva Cross over "WAFFENFABRIK / BREN". Small Geneva Cross military proofs throughout. All matching, with the full serial number on barrel and front of frame. There is a "P63" code on the left side rail, this is a "private" purchase designation and refers to a military-issue pistol that was officially decommissioned and sold into the civilian market. In Swiss tradition, military personnel were often allowed to personally purchase and retain their service sidearms upon completing their service obligation, at which point the army arsenal marked them with the "P" proof. This particular gun comes with a Legacy Collectibles COA and an original Swiss Dienstbüchlein (“service booklet”). It is a small German record booklet associated with the service history of a Luger pistol, most commonly encountered with Swiss military Lugers. It typically contains information such as the pistol’s serial number, issuing unit/organization, dates of issue or inspection, maintenance or repair entries, and sometimes information identifying the soldier or person to whom the pistol was issued. This one names a Karl Escher. The booklet is heavily marked up with tons of entries and stamps. Also included with the gun is a typed letter from a family member of Karl's, who talks about his knowledge of this particular gun and Swiss lugers in general. It also comes with one proper Swiss magazine and a Swiss tan leather holster. Written inside the holster is Escher's name and the serial number of this gun. The gun itself has retained about 94% of its original finish with general high edge wear, muzzle wear, a few small dots of wear on the left side of the barrel, and light spotty wear on the grip straps. Fitted with excellent checkered wood grips. Mint bore.
