Transitional 1939 RZM Hitler Youth Knife & Scabbard - Rare Maker Anton Wingen Jr.

6/25/26 - This is a very nice example of a transitional Hitler Youth knife by the scarce Solingen maker, Anton Wingen Jr. The ricasso is crisply stamped with "RZM M7/51/39", denoting the maker and year of manufacture, with no maker mark on the reverse side. The edge has been polished and sharpened, but the profile has been kept relatively intact. Though there is no more factory cross-graining and the blade has been slightly thinned, the edge is razor sharp and the blade is relatively clean. Aside from somewhat aggressive surface polishing artifacts on both sides of the blade, it presents very well. The original leather buffer pad is in excellent condition. The hilt has retained nearly all of its nickel plating with just a few minor chips. The handle itself is in fantastic shape, and the enamel HJ diamond is close to immaculate and well retained within its fitting. The scabbard is in excellent condition with honest surface wear and minor dings, but no serious dents or issues. The leather closure strap is well maintained, with minor age-related wear.
