SOLD - U-Boat SLD Double-Barreled Flare Pistol

6/23/20 - This is an original WW2 U-Boat Kriegsmarine scarce model SLD - Signal und Leucht Doppelschussmodelce (literally ”signal & light double shot model). The pistol has a pair of 9 1/4” barrels and a 4 3/4” wooden fore-end to give the user a more secure grip when the pistol was fired. This double barrel flare pistol was manufactured in 4 bore and accepted 27mm flares with a variety of signaling and lighting purposes. The left side of frame is waffenamt and has the "eeu" makers mark. It also has a fairly faint "Eagle M" marking. Both barrels have a "4" within a circle and are waffentamt proof stamped. This particular example is in excellent condition and is fully functional. Most of the bluing is in tact, though there is some thinning on the barrels, and some light white specs of wear near the muzzle (as shown in photos). There are also very small white dots throughout the barrels. We assume this is a reaction of the aluminum with the salt air. We saw this similar wear on another example we've offered for sale. The wood parts are excellent - just a few light handling marks. The bores are excellent. Fully functional with a functioning safety.
