Description
9/6/24 - This is an ultra rare Colt 1911A1 from 1945 with JSB inspector mark on frame. Those initials stand for John S. Begley, who inspected only the very last WW2 military examples produced. It's estimated that only ~100 remain or are known of the ~2000 that he inspected. Thus, due to a low survival rate, these frames are potentially more rare than the Singer 1911A1. This particular example was re-worked and comes out of the CMP. It has a Remington slide and Anniston Army Depot mark on right side of frame. This one is in excellent condition aside from some oxidation on the slide, as arsenal re-parkerized finish. Colt barrel with P on one side and C in square on the other. Minty bore and excellent grips. Postwar magazine. All correct examples are recently selling in the $15-20k range.Specifications
