Description
11/3/25 - This is a very nice example of a US Army Colt Model 1901 from 1898. All matching with the proper "RAC" military acceptance proofs. It comes as a rig with a 1917-dated "US" marked holster and a Colt factory letter. According to the letter, it was shipped to Lt. Col. Isaac Arnold Jr (at the Springfield Armory) on July 31, 1898. We were able to find a photo of Isaac and a photo of his headstone (photo attached). The gun shows very little actual finish loss, but there is dulling on the grip straps and some areas of light spotty oxidation here and there. The gun has a high polish blued finish with bright fire-bluing on the small parts. Fitted with excellent smooth wood grips. Near-mint bore.
