4/2/25 - For sale is a Remington Model 11 and "The Sportsman" riot shotguns made during WW2. These shotguns were then issued to the Civil Defense and have consecutive rack numbers.
Remington Model 11
This shotgun is in great shape with a nice military blue finish throughout. The receiver has a hint of browning from patina. The receiver is stamped with US and flaming bomb. Above the trigger guard is E-Penciled "849" for the rack number. The stock and handguard have wear but are in great condition overall. The bore is very bright. The stock also has the "849" rack number engraved next to a Civil Defense mark.
Remington "The Sportsman"
This shotgun is in similar condition to the Model 11 with the metal retaining the bulk of its military blue finish. The left side of the receiver has notable shallow pitting and old corrosion towards the front of the receiver. The receiver is stamped with US and the flaming bomb. The receiver has "848" rack number E-penciled. Thestock and handguard are mostly in great shape but there is a 3" crack on the bottom of the forend stemming from the receiver. The bore is very bright. The stock is engraved with the "848" rack number next to the civil defense mark.
