Description
2/5/26 - This is a very nice example of a Colt Model 1900 Automatic, chambered in .38 Rimless. This particular gun was manufactured in 1900 and has a very early "399" serial number, making it one of the first 400 made. According to our research, up until about serial number 2200 they should have a rear sight safety. You'll notice this one does not. This indicates it was sent back to the Colt factory, where the rear sight was replaced, and the gun was refinished at the Colt factory. The gun comes with a really nice leather presentation/carrying case, a spare set of smooth wood grips, two nickeled magazines, and a full box of vintage ammo. The gun itself has retained about 90% of its high polish bluing. The majority of the actual finish loss is around the muzzle and along the high edges. While there is not much actual finish loss, there is scratchy wear covering most of the gun. Fire bluing on the trigger, and case-hardening on the hammer. Fitted with very nice checkered wood grips. The bore has good rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout.
