Very Nice 1934 Police Style Luger Holster - Otto Sindel Mfg

10/2/26 - This is a very nice example of a police-style Luger holster manufactured by Otto Sindel in 1934. The leather on this holster is in very nice condition with minimal exterior finish loss and has remained sturdy yet pliable. The top flap of the holster shows some finish thinning on the high-edge wear with what appears to be a ~1" section of thinning from where it appears something had been adhered previously. The front of the holster shows a line to the right of the front strap that has caused a light indent in the leather with very minor actual color loss. There are a few hints of high-edge wear near the muzzle and the bottom corners of the magazine pouch. The front strap shows some wear and cracking in the finish, though it remains strong with no signs of any ripping or tearing. The back of the lid shows some exterior finish wear from use, though it has retained its structural integrity. The leather on the back of the holster is in excellent shape with no signs of any finish loss and only minor surface blemishes present. The belt loops show some thinning at the top from general use. The back of the holster between the belt loops bears the maker's mark with "OTTO SINDEL / BERLIN / 1934" stamped into the leather. Below the maker's mark is the Prussian State Police "Sunburst/L" acceptance mark. The top right of the back bears the "3068" police serialization. This holster is missing its Luger lifting strap which attaches to the back of the inside of the holster and is fed through the front of the holster to assist in lifting the Luger out of the holster. Overall this is a very nice Luger holster.
