Very Nice 1944 Ersatz LP34 German Flare Pistol Holster

7/31/26 - For sale is a very nice example of an Ersatz German LP34 flare pistol holster from WWII. This holster was manufactured by Zeschke Nachf. Gebrüder L. Zeuschner in 1944, which is reflected in the "CVC / 44" maker's mark that is stamped on the underside of the lid. To the right of the maker's mark is a faint waffen stamp. The Ersatz on this holster is in very nice condition, but as is common with the Ersatz it has become very sturdy and rigid. Ersatz is made up of layers of recycled paper, and these holsters were more common late-war as supplies ran low during the war. The areas on the holster that more commonly remain pliable, such as the lid hinge, the front strap, and the belt loops, are made of leather. The leather has remained in great condition with no signs of any rips or tears, except for the bottom left corner of the lid hinge where it appears that one stud has pulled through. The finish on the leather does show some cracking from use, though none of them seem to penetrate through the leather. The stitching on the holster is in great shape and has retained a majority of its original white color. There does appear to be one stitch missing from the bottom of the left belt loop, but other than that, all stitching is present and in tact.
