Description
10/14/26 - For sale is a transferable Breda Modello 1930 machine gun made in 1935 for the Costa Rican government, originally chambered in 7mm Mauser (7x57). The Breda Model 30 was an Italian light machine gun used during the inter-war period and WW2. The gun was unique, being fed via a fixed magazine on the right side that folded out and was charged with 20 round chargers. The original design required an oiler on top of the receiver to coat each cartridge before it entered the chamber for reliable extraction. The gun retains a nice aging blued finish throughout, with the color turning a darker grey mixed with brown oxidation. There are some freckles of surface corrosion sporadically around the gun, and the top cover has notable surface corrosion marks. The stock is in great condition with handling wear. There is a Breda roundel on the right side. The magazine is a replacement meant for a 6.5 Carcano Breda 30. The prior owner noted that the 7mm Mauser cartridge does not fit in the 6.5 Carcano magazine, so they installed a 6.5 Carcano barrel. The 6.5 Carcano barrel is currently installed, and the original 7mm barrel is included as a spare. Both bores are bright with good rifling, with some slight darkening in the grooves. The gun has visibly matching numbers on the receiver, bolt assembly, barrel, and stock. A matching-numbers, transferable Breda Modello 1930 that comes with its spare barrel. NFA Rules Apply.
