06/27/2024 - For sale is a Sharps Model 1855 Carbine. The carbine is in good condition for its age and the finish on the barrel and receiver are browning with age with patina. There are some spots of oxidation visible but nothing major or very deep. The stock and and foreend are also in good shape without any cracks or breaks. There are some small chips missing at the toe of the stock. The bore is on the darker side with good rifling when shining a light, but there looks like some corrosion in the grooves. The stock has a brass plate that's stamped "I SCR 1857." The trapdoor for the Maynard primer roll is stamped with the patent information. There is a Crown / 2 stamped on the tang. The barrel appears to be chambered for .36, which was only used on earlier models so it appears this one was re-barreled a long time ago.
