SOLD - Very Rare 1936 German Cigarette Box

7/29/26 - This is a very rare German cigarette box from "Julfest 1936" which translates to "Yule Festival," or loosely "Christmas Party 1936." The lid of the cigarette box bears the Nazi Eagle above the Totenkopf, or the Nazi SS's "death's head." Surrounding the insignia are the engraved words "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" which translates to "My honor is loyalty." Under the lid of the box is an engraved plaque that reads "Gewidmet dem Hstuf Krüger Fritz, Deine Kameraden com Stab." This translates to "Dedicated to Hauptstuf (Nazi SS captain rank) Fritz Krüger, your comrades from the staff." The inside of the box is lined with a black velvet. There is a beautiful patina on the exterior of the box and the interior of the box looks in excellent condition. The interior engraved plaque sits in the lid, though it does appear that the adhesive has since dried out and needs to be re-adhered to the lid.  The rear hinge is tight with no play and smooth travel. This cigarette box comes with photocopies of what appear to be the order sheet for the cigarette case.
