1/23/26 - This is an exceptional example of a very rare Colt Model US Marine Civilian Model revolver from 1908. Less than 1800 produced, with approximately 850 going to the Marine Corp and 926 civilian versions shipped elsewhere. This one is all matching and in remarkable condition, retaining about 92% of its original high polish Colt bluing. Beautiful, vibrant fire-bluing on the small parts. The majority of the wear comes in the form of light flaking and brown patina on the back strap, so the profile views are excellent. There are just hints of high edge wear, an area of very light freckling on the right side of the frame, and a few very light surface scratches here and there. Fitted with excellent hand-checkered wood grips. Mint bore.
