Description
3/18/26 - This an excellent example of a very rare Mauser P.38 variation. It was manufactured in 1944 with an "ac 44" marking on the slide, indicating the slide was manufactured by FN. It was issued to the Nazi police force, as evidenced by the police "Eagle F" proof on the right side of the slide. They only ever made about 220 guns of this variation. This one is all matching and has a dual-tone finish - the slide and frame are phosphate, and the barrel is blued. These finishes are inherently difficult to rate, but we estimate this one to be about 96%. While there is very little actual finish loss, there is spotty discoloration on the phosphate parts (this is typical for these finishes). Fitted with blackish-brown bakelite grips and comes with a proper "Waffen 135" marked Mauser magazine. Like-new bore. De-cocker is functional.
