Description
02/27/26 - For sale is a very rare commercial Mauser C96 carbine sold to the British retailer Patstone & Son. This carbine comes from the Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess Collection. Mauser would make roughly 200 of these flatside carbines. The carbine has a nice high polished bluing on the receiver, slide, magazine floor, sights, and stock joint. The extractor, safety, rear sight slider, and the firing pin retainer have an excellent bright fire blue finish. The pistol grip / stock lug has an aged fire blue with it turning a brownish color from age and patina. The stock and handguard are both in excellent condition. There are light surface wear but no cracks or breaks. The plastic buttplate is whole and retains a nice stippling texture. The center has the script MW overlapping each other. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The carbine has visible matching numbers on the frame, barreled slide, bolt, hammer, follower, magazine floor plate, and stock junction lug. There is an Import mark behind the trigger on the right side.
