Description
11/6/26 - This is a near-mint example of a very rare, wartime PPK shoulder holster manufactured by Akah. These holsters were almost exclusively used by the Gestapo (Geheime Staatspolizei, or Secret State Police) who were essentially detectives for the police force, or for members of the Reichsbank that were issued a PPK sidearm. This particular holster is one of the nicest that we have seen, and features a unique pebble grain pattern, despite a majority of these being issued in a smooth leather finish. The leather itself shows almost no signs of wear or use, retaining a beautiful, even dark brown finish with no hints of high-edge wear or discoloration on the holster or the shoulder strap. The top of the front of the holster bears an excellent, crisp Akah maker's mark. The back of the holster shows no stamps or markings, but does have an excellent belt loop with no signs of any wear present. Stitched to the inside of the holster on the front is a leather snap band to secure the grip of the PPK when not in use. The snap is in excellent functional condition with a secure yet responsive closure, and has retained all of its original brown-colored finish. The inside of the holster bears the "Walther P.P.K." model designation, as well as two small areas of self-applied ink writing, one to the left of the grip strap, and one at the top center of the holster. The leather shoulder strap is in near-mint condition with a beautiful color, and no signs of any rips or tears. The strap is secured by two button knobs on each end of the strap. The stitching present on this holster is all in excellent condition, retaining a beautiful color and showing no signs of any loose, pulling, or torn threads. Overall this is one of the nicest examples you will find of a rare variation of PPK holster.
