Description
1/23/26- For sale is a Vietnam era SPH3 flight helmet with art and personalization. The SPH3 was a light flight helmet for helicopters and other small aircraft that primarily required noise protection, not oxygen supply or advanced features. The helmet has some wear and scuffing to the outer shell but only one small scrape that is deep enough to reveal the material under the paint. The most notable feature of the helmet is the personalization and art on the back. The picture is of a large sailing ship floating on clouds along with the text "Flying Dutchman", referring to either the pilot or the helicopter as a whole. The helmet still has all the original liners and padding, including the ear cups and top webbing. There is a small manufacturer label that seems to indicate manufacture in 1969. Overall in good condition.
