Description
3/2/26 - Here we have a commercial Mauser luger manufactured during WW2. In 1942, due to the needs of the German military, the Mauser factory switched its pistol production from the P.08 luger to the P.38 pistol. As Mauser began P.38 production, the company needed to figure out what to do with the remaining luger parts it had stocked. It was decided to make commercial lugers to sell at home and also use them for police/foreign contracts. This gun was built for the German commercial market sometime between 1942-1944. This gun is one of the last Mauser Lugers ever produced. It has matching numbers, a Mauser banner toggle, and an Eagle/N proof. The rougher late-war finish on the gun rates about 93-94%. The sideplate here also appears replaced, but unclear if this was during wartime or not (it is matching but the font is different from the rest of the pistol). The loss comes from the grip straps, the high edges, around the muzzle, and one spot on top of the barrel. The straw on the small parts is virtually all gone. Comes with a correct fxo Mauser magazine. Bore is bright with strong rifling.
