Description
4/13/26 - This is a Webley W.G. Target Model 1892 revolver. These were made in a fairly narrow range and in a variety of cartridges, this one being in the .450 Mark I cartridge which remained popular in target applications even after the .455 service cartridge was introduced. There are subtle seams in the grip frame which is correct for this time period. When ordered with the target grip, frames that were originally birds head gripped were modified into the target style. The gun was retailed by Westley Richards. The "church steeple" style cylinder flutes were replaced by the more typical style flutes circa 1893-94 in the 6000 serial range. No indication of later reaming or modification to a later Mark of cartridge. This one has retained about 85% of its original high polish bluing with honest flaking in the finish throughout, most noticeable along the barrel and on the grip straps, where there is also some brown patina. Very nice shiny bore with just a few small dots of freckling here and there. This is an antique, so no FFL required.
