Description
8/9/23 - This is a very rare Weimar Era German Navy Luger from the 1930's. Due to the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was prohibited from making additional weapons of war after WW1. The German Navy was not able to order new guns such as Lugers so they had to rework some of the old equipment. This gun is a great example of a re-worked Luger for the German Navy during this period of time known as the Weimar Era. The Luger itself was 1908 Navy luger that had the barrel cut down to comply with long barrel restrictions. It still has the Navy style rear site. The left side of the receiver has the Navy (Crown N) proof marks. The backstrap has the N property mark indicating that it went to the Nordsee Navy Base. All numbered parts are matching with the exception of the magazine. However, the magazine is navy style and also marked with the N property mark. The grips seem to fit like originals but are not numbered. Excellent bore. The arsenal refinished gun rates at about 85% (Blued at the time of the re-work), with most of the wear on the front strap.Specifications
