Description
2/20/26 - This is a very well-preserved example of a Remington Model 1858 New Army Model that was produced between 1863 and 1875. These are generally seen in pretty worn condition, with loads of patina. While this example has patches of wear and patina (there is also some cold blue touchup in these areas), it's in excellent condition as far as Remington 1858 models go. This revolver has retained roughly 75% of its original finish, with most notable areas of finish loss being on the right side of the barrel and across the top of the frame just in front of the cylinder. There is also high-edge wear and a turn line on the cylinder. This Model 1858 is fitted with period-correct wood grips that bear the cartouche on the bottom of the left panel. The bore is bright with crisp rifling, and one or two very minor spots of pitting. Mechanically sound with proper timing and lock-up. No license is required to purchase this firearm.
