Description
09/02/26 - For sale is a Winchester Model 1873 chambered in .44-40 and made in 1882. The rifle is in good shape with a dulled/aged bluing that is turning a mix of grey/brown/blue. There is visible finish loss on the edges to bare metal. The barrel is turning a brownish patina. The King's Patent loading gate has a hint of a fire blue. The stock and forend are smooth with handling wear. The stock has a 1.5" crack behind the tang, and also a large chip missing in front of the buttplate on the comb. The bore is mostly bright, but there is a prickling of light surface corrosion visible within the last 6 inches of the muzzle.
