Description

7/24/17 - Original finish is about 96-97% but with the typical oxidation in the finish (patina) found on the Navy issued lugers.  Nice straw color small parts.  1917 dated gun.  All matching numbered parts with the exception of the unnumbered grips (I believe period correct and proper for this gun) and the unnumbered rear toggle pin.   The rear pin is a replacement as it does not have the Navy "flanged" head.  It has a standard luger toggle pin, which works just fine.   All other parts appear to be original and matching.  The bore has a bit of corrosion but overall, fairly nice.  I would rate it a 7 out of 10.  Imperial navy markings are guaranteed to be original and authentic. The magazine is serial number matching to the gun with a correct Navy proof stamp. The font on the numbering however, doesn't appear to be factory. Perhaps this one was a Navy replacement magazine, numbered at the Naval Arsenal. This is an overall nice WW1 Navy Luger exmaple.
