Description
5/1/26 - This is a nice example of a Colt Official Police Revolver in .38-200 that would have been purchased by the British Purchasing Commission in 1941 for use by a British Officer in WW2. It is all matching with the proper British proofs throughout, including a Woolwich Crown stamp on the left side of the frame, and a property number on the butt of the frame (can be observed on all of these). The barrel has been shortened to 2 inches. The gun's original high polish finish rates about 93%. While there isn't a ton of actual finish loss, there is light spotty oxidation throughout, brown patina on the grip straps, noticeable discoloration on the left side of the barrel, and some small scratches and marks here and there. Fitted with excellent checkered wood grips. Minty bore.
