Description
6/19/26- For sale is a German M1915 pickelhaube. The spiked Pickelhaube helmet was a famous symbol of German militarism but was quickly proved to be outdated when confronted by modern weapons like artillery and machine guns. The M1915 was the last variation and reflected the lessons learned and material shortages of the war. The helmet is made of thick felt to preserve valuable leather and the fittings are dull steel rather than expensive, reflective brass. The prominent top spike is also removeable, with two slots on the base allowing it to fit over the lug that holds it in place. The chinstrap and liner are both intact with moderate wear but no serious damage. There are no visible manufacturer markings. Overall in excellent condition.
