10/28/25- For sale is a 1915 dated Austrian trench shovel. As WWI was a war defined by opposing trench systems, the simple shovel was one of the most important pieces of equipment for a soldier. This shovel is 20 inches long. There is wear, scratching, and loss of paint on the shovel head. There is a small stamp that says "Bleckmann Mürzzuschlag 1915", the name of a known Austrian steel mill and the town where it was located. The handle also has scratches and scrapes. There is a small stamped "191" number, along with some scrapes that could possibly be carved letters. The leather frog is present and intact. Overall in good condition.
