Description
8/11/26 - This is an early, WWI-era Colt Government Model 1911 sold in the commercial market in 1916. It has the correct markings and according to the included Colt factory letter was shipped to W. B. Jarvis Co. in Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 12, 1916. It has a military "intertwined HP" barrel. The entire gun has been re-blued. It shows almost no actual finish loss, but there are areas of noticeable pitting under the bluing, most obvious on the underside of the front edge of the frame and on the front strap. Fitted with reproduction wood grips and comes with a two-tone lanyard loop magazine (noticeable oxidation and pitting). Very nice bore with strong rifling.
