Description
8/11/26 - This is an early, WWI-era Colt Government Model 1911 sold in the commercial market in 1916. It is all correct and according to the included Colt factory letter was shipped to Belknap Hardware & Manufacturing Co. in Louisville, KY on June 22, 1916. It has retained roughly 80% of its original finish. There is general high edge wear and areas of spotty, somewhat scratchy wear on the grip straps and along both sides of the slide. Fitted with period-correct wood grips (noticeable bruising on the right side) and comes with a two-tone lanyard loop magazine. The bore has decent rifling, but there is noticeable spotty surface oxidation throughout.
