Description
8/11/26 - This is an early, WWI-era Colt Government Model 1911 sold in the commercial market in 1916. It is all correct and according to the included Colt factory letter was shipped to Murta Appleton & Co in Philadelphia on June 22, 1916. It has retained about 93% of its original finish. There is general high edge wear and spotty, somewhat scratchy wear on the grip straps. But the majority of the finish loss comes in the form of spotty discoloration on most of the slide. Fitted with period-correct wood grips (some dings on the left side) and comes with a two-tone lanyard loop magazine. The bore has good rifling with just minor frosting in the grooves.
