Description
8/17/26 - This is an early, WWI-era Colt Government Model 1911 sold in the commercial market in 1916. It is all correct and according to the included Colt factory letter was shipped to Buhl Sons Co. in Louisville, KY on December 14, 1916. It has retained roughly 60% of its original finish. There obvious wear throughout with noticeable finish loss on the grip straps, wear around the high edges, and splotchy discoloration along both sides of the slide. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and comes with a two-tone magazine (the number "16" is written in black sharpie on the bottom. The bore has good rifling, but there is noticeable pin-pricking and frosting in the grooves.
