WWI-Era 7.65mm Police Style Holster

9/24/26 - A WWI-era brown pebble-grain police-style holster for a 7.65mm pistol, maker-marked "FRANZ HERRMANN -ERFURT- 1915" beneath the front strap - a great dated Imperial German mark. The leather has stayed in very nice functional condition, sturdy yet pliable, and the pebble grain retains a majority of its dark brown finish. Honest wear throughout: high-edge wear at the muzzle from the pistol it once carried, some scuffs, blemishes and a small area of finish loss along the leading edge, and edge wear with no ripping or tearing in the body. The top of the belt loop shows finish loss and cracking with a small tear on the left side, and a previous owner scratched "EF" into the finish beside the belt loop. Much of the stitching appears to have been replaced - it is missing on the right side of the front strap, and the top flap was restitched in white thread that does not align with the original holes. Over a century old with real character - an affordable piece of dated Imperial police leather for the 7.65mm pistol in your collection.
