Description

9/18/26 - This is a good example of a WWI-era, two-tone 1911 magazine manufactured by Barnes and Kolbert. This magazine has retained its beautiful two-toned finish, but does show some wear on the tube from use. The wear is primarily on the right side of the magazine at the finish transition as well as towards the bottom, and on the left side of the magazine, primarily focused near the front edge and in a few spots throughout the blued area. The bottom of the baseplate shows some finish loss and wear, a majority of it existing near the heel of the baseplate. Where the baseplate is pinned to the magazine does show some distortion and wear, and the front pin on the left side of the magazine shows some separation. The "B" maker's mark stamped on the toe of the baseplate is in great shape with clear lines. The follower has smooth travel throughout the tube and the spring is strong yet responsive.
