Description
11/3/26 - For sale is a WWII German Army tropical web belt with its "Gott Mit Uns" buckle. Web belts like this one were introduced for German troops serving in North Africa and other hot climates, where leather equipment dried out and cracked, and they became a signature piece of the Afrikakorps uniform. This tan woven belt has a leather tab at the end, and the olive green painted steel buckle carries the Wehrmacht eagle surrounded by "Gott Mit Uns." The leather tab is stamped with the RB-Nr. code "RB-Nr. 0/0448/0038" (Reichsbetriebsnummer, the wartime manufacturer code). The belt is in very nice condition overall. There are a couple of spots of staining on the canvas belt, and the leather is excellent. The green paint on the buckle has just a few tiny chips. A great example of a WWII German tropical web belt and buckle.
