Description
6/5/25 - This is a great, original World War II Italian M1938 Carcano bayonet manufactured by the renowned L. Franchi company. This fixed-blade bayonet was designed for use with the Carcano M38 short rifle and remains in great condition considering its age.
The blade is bright with minimal wear and shows no evidence of postwar sharpening, preserving its authentic edge and finish. The wood grips are engraved with initials but in overall great condition. The top of the handle is clearly marked with "3," a circled maker’s mark, and serial number “N66037,” along with the manufacturer’s stamp, “L. FRANCHI.”
The original steel scabbard retains much of its finish and features a fully functional retention catch, making this a complete and desirable set. This bayonet is a fine example of a classic WWII Italian military edged weapon and is becoming increasingly difficult to find in such well-maintained, original condition.
