SOLD - K98 Bayonet - Mismatched (010325-2 - AB)

1/6/25 - This is an example of a mismatched K98 Bayonet issued to the German military in WW2. Maker marked 44fnj above the hilt. The bayonet comes with a period correct scabbard. The blade on this piece retains most of it's original finish and maintains it's original edge. The tip of this bayonet does have some damage and is bent, but is not missing any metal. Both bayonet and scabbard have the proper Waffen proofs. The scabbard on this bayonet has 4 dents on the one side, as well as some patina. Interestingly, the both the bayonet and the scabbard are from the same manufacture and have the same "44" date code. The scabbard is serial numbered "9272 m" and the blade is serial numbered "9233 m".
