Description
1/6/23 - This a later wartime production reworked or "force matched" K98 bayonet. The bayonet blade is matching numbered to the scabbard, but the stamping looks to be late-war style with large, crude font. On the blade you can see the faint remnant of a previous serial number stamp on the ricasso. The blade is in great condition overall with very nice blued finish and some mild finish loss near the tip. The edge shows some minor use wear but no signs of sharpening. There's rust on the crossguard and on the pommel of the bayonet, but the grips are in great shape. The bayonet scabbard has some surface patina throughout and some beginning signs of rust in a few small spots. No dents on the scabbard.Specifications
