SOLD - WW1 French Croix de Guerre

1/16/25 - This is an excellent example of a WW1 French Croix de Guerre. The Croix de Guerre is awarded to members of the French Military or its Allies for acts of gallantry in combat. This medal has three additions on it as well. The first being a clasp that says "Afrique", this clasp could indicate that this soldier was either in the African theater of WW1 or was a soldier from one of France's African colonies. The second is a bronze star, the bronze star is awarded for those soldiers who were mentioned at the regiment, battalion, or brigade level. The last is a bronze palm, the bronze palm is awarded for those soldiers who were cited at the army level. The palm is the highest level, outside the silver palm which is awarded for earning five bronze palms.
