Description
1/20/23 - This is an extremely rare, early first variation Japanese Baby Nambu holster with hard molded clamshell flap. Per Derby's book on Japanese military handguns, fewer than 30 examples were known to exist in U.S. collections. These holsters were a scaled down edition of the more familiar 'Papa' holster. These holsters were made with smooth cowhide leather, with this example being no exception. The leather is all original, including the shoulder strap. The interior leather is stamped with a Tokyo Arsenal symbol and some other faint Japanese characters. Below the ammo pouch on the front leather are two more Japanese characters, but these look hand-written. The leather has mild pliability and is in great overall condition. All of the stitching appears original as well. Overall an extremely scarce holster in great condition.Specifications
