Description
3/13/25 - This is a very rare Sailor's ditty box from 1908. It was issued for them to keep their personal items while stationed on a boat or at the base. It has a brass plaque marked WEHS which we are told is the last name of the sailor. He was assigned to the II Werft Division. The 173/08 number meant he was sailor number 173 in the recruit class of 1908. The wood is old and a bit warped, but considering the age it is in good condition. The corners have original brass fittings. A real piece of history.Specifications
