Description
5/10/23 - This is an original WW1 era production Prussian Enlisted Man's or Noncommissioned Officer's Pickelhaube. The helmet features a black lacquered leather exterior with some surface wrinkling and cracking throughout. This is mostly surface wear, but there are a few small areas of chipped finish, as shown. The front rounded visor has a non-magnetic brass rim. The stitching is all present and original, but there's some mild play or wiggle on the front brim from aging and likely some loose stitches. The front eagle plate is a standard Prussian eagle with inscription "Mitt Gott Fur Koenig und Vaterland". Great condition with normal surface patina. The top spike is standard EM brass and removable, with a circular base and 4 mounting rivets. The back spine is intact and non-magnetic brass. The original leather chinstrap is still attached, but is worn and has a few weak points. The middle of the chinstrap has broken and been repaired with a wrapped wire. The original interior leather liner is intact and in great condition as shown.Specifications
