SOLD - Luftwaffe M40 Helmet with USGI Signatures

8/23/24 - This is a great example of a M40 Luftwaffe helmet. This helmet was further embellished as it contains the signatures of many GI's who fought in WW2. The signatures indicate that the helmet was most likely captured and signed in France on January 23rd 1945. The helmet itself is in great condition maintaining almost all of its original finish, though it does have a some markings that are consistent with handling over the years. The Luftwaffe decal on the side of the helmet appears original but was most likely a later replacement during the war as the remnants of the original decal still remain on the helmet. This helmet is a researchers dream as most of the names signed within are still very legible.
