Description
6/21/23 - This is an original Type 30 Japanese Rifle bayonet from WW2. Cited in Labar's book as a Variation A, LB 73. This is an early production example with no serial number on the pommel. Instead, the serial number is found on the spine of the hilt. There's also a painted "J19" on the pommel and scabbard, which is congruent with other "prototype" features found on these bayonets. The blade is bright and fullered with some dark surface oxidation in spots throughout the blade. The hooked hand guard and bird's head pommel show dark surface patina and natural aging wear. The wood grips are contoured with two oval washers and screws, and in great shape. Comes with a ball tipped metal scabbard as well.Specifications
